Castle Rock

Another gorgeous South Island day... so we followed the edge of the Nor'west Arch to the Alps and a place known as Castle Hill. The limestone rocks here form an impressive natural landscape that reminds me of an organic version of Stonehenge or Avebury.

This Autumn has been warm and mellow with quite a few Nor'west days.

It's perfect bouldering country, and there is evidence of some rock climbing too. If you look carefully you can see bolts in some choice areas, and a few chalkmarks too.

We're making the most of our time together; Dave is going back down South to Invercargill to work for a month while I stay in Christchurch and start a new job that should last us until my British visa comes. It will be sad for us to be apart, hopefully we'll be able to see each other sometime in the middle of the month!
