It's a dramatic approach to Holy Island, you have to look up the tide times to make sure that the causeway is accessible and the tide is low.

It was amusing to see the car 'swimming' on our sat nav.

Holy Island has been a place of pilgrimage for many many years... it's an idyllic village. It looks a bit like somewhere from a novel or a play; mostly it reminded me of the island of Illyria from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night...
The castle became an Edwardian summer house, complete with a walled garden.
This is the local church, still in use today.
And here is the famous Lindisfarne Priory with its signature arch.
A beautiful place.
