Akaroa - C'est tres jolie!

Yi Lin's friend Bhakti is visiting at the moment, so we decided to go over the hills to Akaroa to show her a little bit of French charm in NZ. Akaroa is NZ's only little French settlement, beaten to the post by the British by only a small margin. It's 1 1/2 hour drive from Christchurch.



Here are the girls, trying out the arty metal hammock. Not as comfy as the cloth ones, but a bit of a novelty! We tried out the Hummingbird coffee and some cake at Little River.



Mum and some very moreish Greek Orange Cake... shared by all four of us (a massive slice). The sign was at the back of the cafe counter. It's cute and cheeky.

Barrys Bay Cheese Factory. They are making Havarti today. My favourite is Cumin seed. Yummy!



I think the light in Akaroa is amazing.
