Incense Maker

One of my favourite stops in Hue, the imperial city in Central Vietnam was actually unscheduled. Our tour guide kindly looked after us until we needed to get to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. She stopped us by the roadside where an old lady and her daughter were making incense and traditional conical hats. We were running short of local currency and needed to visit the ATM; our tour guide explained to the old lady that we weren't going to buy anything, but our host still insisted on fanning me and chortled away when I took up the offer of having a go at making a stick of incense. She was very gracious and guided my hands to roll out the mixture.
