We took advantage of a nice, if showery, Saturday to venture up into the mountains to look for Kea. I still hadn't seen any in the wild, and was hoping for some more snow pics as well. Unfortunately a lot of thawing has happened over the last few days. Still, the showers proved suprisingly photogenic.
And there was at least a little snow left...
Up in Arthur's Pass, where the rain was rather more persistent, we found what we were looking for. The kea were looking rather bedraggled. Still as inquisitive as ever though. And not pestered by too many tourists out in the downpour, we had them all to ourselves.
