Still pictures struggle to bring something as vibrant as the Notting Hill carnival to life - Char's video does a much better job! But here are a few of the best photos to help do the job... Be warned though - some pics are a little explicit so don't look if easily offended!
The costumes are very inventive of course. But even those without amazing creations were having a great time.
Maybe 500 or more people drumming all together? Quite a sight!
The floats were great too - although rather strange in some cases!
Some costumes were a little more 'minimal', although not lacking in feathers!
And some just got downright dirty! Who's ever seen a bus getting a lap dance before?
Still, the police were in force (and then some!) to keep everyone in line...

I like the minimalist costume. Only the best in physique could wear it.
It was great fun watching it all pass by. Those mini-costumes must take quite an exhibitionist nature, along with a great physique, to walk around in front of all those people without feeling a little self-conscious. Apparently about half a million people were there - quite an acheivement as the streets of Notting Hill are pretty tiny...
that guy dry humping the fat guy has such scrawny legs.
