Hello! Here's a joint post from both of us today.
It's Jamie's last few days in Londontown before he heads home to Newcastle to continue his studies... so we decided to meet up at the London Eye to see the city from above. It's a spectacular experience, quite different from a Ferris wheel as the capsules rotate along with the central axis, very clever!
The wheel doesn't stop moving and its a slick operation to have all passengers exit, a quick cleanup and bomb checking crew, and still have time for the new passengers to board.
The engineering is beautiful, and it's suspended right out over the river.

Here are the boys...
The view becomes ever wider as you gradually ascend...
At the top the capsule seems suspended for a brief moment, before gradually descending down the other side...
...opening up a completely new vista.
The Eye is a great vantage point for seeing the city sights...
...Canary Wharf...
...St Pauls...
...Buckingham Palace...
...Houses of Parliament...
...and Battersea Powerstation.
We then stopped off in South Kensington for a visit to the V&A and its 'Village Fete'.
These cakes were made from wool and ceramic...
Fancy throwing a hoop onto a sheep while lying in bed?
Or fishing for a prize in a paddling pool?
It was all there, also including a stiff upper lip competition, where you had to try and hold a pencil between your nose and lip while looking at silly pictures!
A quick stop off at the V&A's latest exhibition was also interesting:
Moleskin slippers?
A stuffed fox with golden maggots in its ears?
And an interesting teapot!
Take care, Jamie! We'll see you sometime soon in London or up north in Newcastle.

No, I didn't know she was in town! Skirt is from H&M, one of my favs. Will miss this shop when I'm in NZ.
Godammit, we really need to go up the London Eye some time. Great photos!
We went Village Fete-ing on Friday night! Looks like you had a fun time. xx
love the fete!
were the girls from Prick Your Finger there?
Hi Birdy, thanks I had a brilliant time at the fair. Was rubbish at Tatty Devine's fishing game, but got a 'smashing!' badge at Naughty for Nice.
I don't know about Prick your Finger, Pen, but there was quite a bit of talent out there.
