Windsor Castle

Last Wednesday Dave, Kathy and I went to Windsor Castle for a visit on a bit of a dull day. It turned out to be a great idea as there wasn't much of a crowd, in fact we were treated to a private tour of the grounds! The Queen wasn't in residence - her flag is flown when she's at home, usually on the weekends.

We weren't able to take pictures inside any of the buildings, but you can also see Queen Mary's Dolls House, and St George's Chapel and the State Apartments which have very impressive, grand interiors. We finished off our tour by going to an evening service at the Chapel, and we were seated in special places in the Nave reserved for Knights of the Garter. St George's Chapel is also the resting place of King Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
