The Royal Ballet

Last night Dave and I met up with Kathy in Covent Garden to see the Royal Ballet perform 'Ondine' at the Royal Opera House. The lead character of Ondine was danced by Miyako Yoshida, a talented ballerina who conveyed much grace and emotion with her delicate arm movements. The lady sitting beside Kathy commented that she thought Yoshida was the best Ondine since Margot Fonteyn.

The Opera House itself is lovely to visit, with exhibited photography especially of Fonteyn, and costumes from previous productions. Definitely a wonderful night for a girl who used to practice like mad for her Royal Ballet exams, far away in New Zealand (a long time ago)!
