Moeraki

On the way South towards Dunedin, we stopped off to visit the Moeraki Boulders on the Otago coastline. They look quite mysterious, bound in Maori legend. They are in fact 'concretions' that formed on the sea floor in ancient times and were exposed from the mudstone cliffs by eroding waves.





Having a bit of fun, just so you get a scale of how big these boulders are...



Here's Dave, pondering that he'd love to be here at sunrise or sunset to catch that perfect photo! But onwards towards Dunedin...
