Char's Home!

Back in Christchurch!

City of trams, punting, cathedrals and lots of English road names...

It even has a town crier with traditional red coat! The Port Hills overlook the city.

The cathedral looks very English also. We were suprised to see a bride walking about wearing jeans!

Details from the cathedral, including a Maori weaving...

Buskers gather in the square, part of the annual busker festival. Sam Wills has come all the way from Covent Garden to perform! A rather unusual act involving spinning orange juice around, exploding a rubber glove on his head, pushing his body through a tennis racket and slicing a cucumber on a guy's belly!!

Punting on the Avon River, and watch out for those tracks!

Gorgeous botanic garden.

And evening views of the city and Littleton harbour through the mist. Its a great city! I'm liking it already!!

What a beautiful city, Char, you look so happy to be home! The guy with his body through a tennis raquet - like the act we saw at the hippodrome cabaret - its so gruesome you can hardly bear to waatch! I love your pictures of the fantails feeding - all of them, actually. Love, Mum

Thanks Kathy! Fantails are my favourite bird in NZ, so cheeky and cute with their fancy tails, whiskers and white eyebrows. They aren't shy either and dart about the trees catching insects! Looking forward to taking you to Willowbank to see all the wildlife. xxx
