There were tables for making up your own designs:
And kitchen doors to compare the look. Our favourites were Wellington Oak and Classic Oak. Although Auckland Oak was a close 3rd! They had Christchurch Oak and Kauri too - we wondered if the company had NZ connections?!
Unfortunately our dreams came down with a bump when I started getting costings. Sadly we can't afford over £3000 just to floor our extension in vinyl... Laminate will have to do. But we did get to choose our perfect wood effect.
We had a quick visit into Evesham town centre, and were astonished to see the extent of the flooding there:

We know the feeling about the wood flooring. It cost too much in the end that we just gave up. This flooding is getting worldwide. SFO is also in bad shape from last week's storm.
Was it solid wood flooring or like a 3 or 4 mm wood veneer flooring?
Solid wood was out of our price range so we got the 3mm ones instead.whats bamboo like over there?
We've been looking at all the types. Actually we were looking in Evesham at wood effect vinyl flooring. It's very convincing and comes in planks just like wood, but completely water and pet resistant... However it costs the same as solid wood and that is definitely out of our budget.
Wood veneer (called engineered board here) was a close call. However it's still costly compared to laminate here.
Is there going to be gypboard over the dark grey bricks or do you just paint over the bricks and that's going to be your internal walls?
No the bricks wouldn't hold paint well. For some reason they prefer wet plastering to 'plaster board' here (which i think is the same thing as 'gypboard'?). I suspect it just works out a bit cheaper! So that is how they'll finish most of the walls.
