On another hot day, we piled onto the bus at Sorrento station and took the crowded bus to the Amalfi Coast. The road clings to the cliffsides, and it can be unnerving at times as the bus goes around tight corners.
We went past pretty Positano, to Amalfi. Sometimes you have to go when you have to go, it's sometimes tricky finding public conveniences, so I paid out one euro for the most expensive wee I've had to date. Hmmm.
There are a lot of shops specialising in ceramics. The painted tile murals were impressive.
The beach was very popular for sunbathing.
The square and the church were beautiful.
We opted for the strenuous option of walking up to the local villages. We climbed up through the town, ducking through arches and walking past lots of doorways.
First stop, Atrani - Amalfi's little sister. We had our first granites, flavoured crushed ice. We soon discovered that you need to eat these really slowly despite the hot sun, or you get an ice-cream headache!

Ice-cream headache?
Great photos!! :).
when it's so cold your head feels funny when you eat ice cream or granite too quickly!
