City of Sails

A few motorways (much to Dave's delight) and spaghetti junctions northwards and we were in Auckland, NZ's largest city. We stayed in the central city and enjoyed Japanese food and walking along the waterfront. The Spirit of New Zealand looked wonderful in the harbour.



There were larger vessels in town, too:





Dave set the sat-nav to find some of the best views in town, One Tree Hill and Mount Eden. They are actually small volcanoes, as is made evident by the craters...





You can see the Sky Tower well from Mount Eden.



One Tree Hill from Cornwall Park. It's like Richmond Park in London, but with a hill and with sheep instead of deer!
